Have you ever wanted to do any of the following:
- Convince your sales manager that a new competitor keeps winning over prospective clients
- Convince investors that customers really do love your product
- Convince a product manager that users are fumbling with a new feature in your product
Jog Stories are a great way to communicate ideas like these. Stories allow you to compile clips from different calls and share them in a rich format that includes both the audio and the text. Here's an example:
Why use Stories?
It's one thing to tell someone about an important moment from a call, it's another thing to let them see and hear it. Using Stories is a great way to communicate ideas more powerfully using the words of others.
What's the difference between Stories, Shared Conversations, and Flags?
Flags are designed to replace note taking in real-time during your calls. You can think of flags as something you don't think too much about – just drop one whenever you hear anything remotely interesting. You can always delete or edit later.
Shared conversations are a way to share the entirety of a call with someone you trust to see and hear everything. Whoever has a shared link will see the full transcript, any flags you dropped, and will be able to playback audio of the full call.
Stories, on the other hand, are much more curated and are compilations of short clips from multiple conversations around a central theme. When you share a Story, you're only sharing the audio and text from a small portion of a call.
How do I create a Story?
Just go to any conversation, highlight the portion of the transcript you'd like to "clip," then right-click and choose "Add to Story." You can also just click "New Story" from your Jog dashboard.
To add more clips to the Story, just follow the same process – highlight portions you want to clip, right-click, and add them to the relevant Story. You can do this from one conversation or from many.
How do I edit Stories?
To edit a Story, go into the Story editor by clicking the Story name from your dashboard.
Now you can do a few interesting things. Try this:
Move clips around by dragging and dropping the icon to the left of each clip.
Correct transcript errors by clicking "edit text" underneath each clip. You can remove words here too by simply highlighting them and deleting that text.
Finally you can share a full screen version of your story with anyone by clicking the blue "Share this Story" button.
Try it out and let us know if you have any questions.
